Volunteer Information

Emergency Medical Services is always looking for volunteer First Responders and Emergency Medical Technicians. You will gain experience in pre-hospital emergency medicine, acquire continuing education in EMS, help those in need and meet new people.

EMS offers many benefits to its volunteers:

  • First Responder/Emergency Medical Technician class reimbursement
  • Free continuing education and refresher courses

  • Opportunities to gain experience and teach in EMS

How do I join?

If you are interested in joining UMEMS and you are a certified FR/EMT, download our team application below and submit via e-mail (umems@umn.edu), mail (Suite 140, 2221 University Avenue SE, Minneapolis, MN 55414) or fax it to us (612-625-6660).

If you are not a certified FR/EMT and are interested in joining, please contact us for additional information via e-mail (umems@umn.edu).
